The Kolkata Knight Riders got off to a flying start in IPL 12 by defeating heavyweights SRH and KXIP. However, after an impressive fight, they conceded to the Delhi Capitals and bowed to Rabada’s brilliance in the Super Over. They would be itching to get back to winning ways as a win today would take KKR to the top of the table.
They will be further encouraged by the fact that their explosive match-winners Andre Russell and Sunil Narine are fit to play the crucial match. The Chinnaswamy Stadium is expected to favour the batsmen and many of the KKR players like Uthappa and Prasidh Krishna are from Karnataka and know the pitch inside out.
KKR Predicted Playing 11 vs RCB
Top-order
After a massive failed experiment with Maharashtra wicket-keeper Nikhil Naik, KKR would look forward to having Sunil Narine back on the top of the order. It was at the Chinnaswamy that Narine went berserk a couple of years ago and scored 54 off just 17 balls. He loves batting here and would look to replicate that performance.
Chris Lynn has looked out of form but he would be persisted with because on his day, Lynnsanity can bring you 2 points easily. Also, the Chinnaswamy will suit his style of play.
Robin Uthappa has been in good form and would look forward to continue playing the role of an anchor for KKR at his hometown by batting at No. 3.
Middle-order
KKR’s middle order has done well this season with someone or the other always stepping up. Nitish Rana would continue to bat at No. 4 and hope to extend the brilliant form he displayed in the first two games.
Depending on the situation in the match, the next 3 spots in the middle order will be occupied by flamboyant Shubman Gill, dependable skipper Dinesh Karthik and the brutal Dre-Russ (Russell). The middle order looks solid and can be relied upon to fire more often than not.
Bowlers
The bowling attack of KKR has been a major cause of concern for them. The bowlers have been leaking runs and that could be a huge problem in high-scoring games as the one expected today. Lockie Ferguson has been extremely exciting to watch with his raw pace and accuracy.
In spite of not picking up too many wickets, he will still make the team. Local boy Prasidh Krishna has been doing well with the ball. He would also like to add some wickets against his name.
Kuldeep Yadav has blown hot and cold but a talent like him will not be benched. The last over he bowled in the match against DC is ample proof of his calibre. Piyush Chawla would continue to try and pick wickets at crucial stages. Sunil Narine has been out of form with the ball but he would also like to change that in this match. Andre Russell has been exciting with the ball as well picking up 5 wickets in 3 matches.
KKR Predicted Playing 11 vs RCB – 1) Chris Lynn 2) Sunil Narine 3) Robin Uthappa 4) Nitish Rana 5) Shubman
Gill 6) Dinesh Karthik (c & wk) 7) Andre Russell 8) Piyush Chawla 9) Kuldeep Yadav 10) Prasidh
Krishna 11) Lockie Ferguson
