Real Madrid are ready to pounce in for Mauro Icari following the conclusion of this season.

Real Madrid are ready to lure Mauro Icardi to Santiago Bernabeu following this season. Entering his sixth season for Inter Milan, the striker is looking to move away from San Siro, with a host of European clubs interested in the Argentine.

According to the Mirror, the Nerazzurri are demanding are a fee of 110 million to secure his signature. Along with Real Madrid, Chelsea and Napoli are the other two sides looking to prise him away from San Siro.

Icardi to Real Madrid

Both Real Madrid and Inter Milan are yet to strike a deal, but the move could take place only in the summer transfer window. It is also understood that the striker is looking for a wage of 8 million Euros per year which is fairly comfortable for most of the top sides in Europe right now.

Since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, the Los Blancos have struggled for goals up front with Gareth Bale being the top scorer with 13 goals this term. Besides, Karim Benzema has scored more than 25 goals only once during his reign at Real Madrid.

It is essential for them to buy a player who would be able to carry the ball from midfield to the attack. A striker is also another priority for them as they look for a striker who could be able to score more than 30 goals in a season.

Mauro Icardi is a product of FC Barcelona having played for their academy for three years, where the Catalans decided that he was not ready for the first time. However, Sampdoria were able to sign him when things looked rusty at Catalonia.

He played with the reserves for a year and another year of first-time football. He was able to score 11 goals in 32 appearances during that season which was enough for Inter Milan’s interest.

Following his short stay with the Italian outfit, he got transferred to another Serie A giants Inter Milan during the summer of 2013. He has been their main reliable man in front of the goal over half a dozen season.

The injury to Mariano Diaz means that the Los Blancos are desperate for a clinical striker. AS report that Inter Milan are ready to offer 6 million per year, but Icardi is wanting another two million more to extend his contract.

After the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus, it is more likely to see Luka Modric follow him out of Real Madrid as they seek to protect his value and sell him without any loss.

Currently, the reigning European Champions are without their talisman who has scored more than 50 goals in every calendar year. It will be tough to cope as they sit fourth in the La Liga table, but they are already having one eye on the summer as they look to bolster the squad.
