Real Madrid’s long hunt for a keeper to replace the struggling Kiko Casilla and their no. 1 Keylor Navas was hit by a major roadblock last week. Their primary target, Athletic Bilbao’s Kepa, penned down a new deal with his existing club to shut down all rumors of a move to the Spanish capital.

Real Madrid were on the verge of signing David de Gea in the 2015 transfer window, only to be denied by some late paperwork submission to La Liga, that prevented his transfer from Manchester United.

And now, once again, reports from Spanish sports daily Marca, claim that Florentino has made David as his primary target, in a bid to reshuffle his Galacticos. The reports claim that Madrid are ready to shell out €90mn for the 27-year-old making him the most expensive goalkeeper of all time.

Rumors claim that Madrid will look to swoop in for ex-Atletico Madrid keeper Thibaut Courtois as a back-up, but will keep David de Gea as their top priority in the goalkeeper section.

The Spaniard still has a season left on his current Manchester United contract and the Red Devils have confirmed that Mourinho and Ed Woodward are planning a new five-year contract for him to keep out of contention for Real Madrid.

According to multiple rumors, Manchester United are demanding a swap move for David de Gea in return for Cristiano Ronaldo. With the Portuguese talisman reportedly tired of growing criticism and lack of form in front of goal, he wishes a move back to the club of his formative years. Coincidentally, super-agent Jorge Mendes manages both Cristiano Ronaldo’s and David de Gea’s contract and will be key in initiating this operation.

However, Real will consider to sell their Portuguese star only if either the deals for Neymar, Hazard or Lewandowski go through.

All in all, this summer will see wholesale changes at the Bernabeu, as Perez will look to overhaul the Real Madrid squad. With Zidane also in danger of losing his job, we could see a very different Real Madrid side next season.
