Shocking move by Real Madrid to scrap Ronaldo out of their history

Real Madrid have taken steps to rub Cristiano Ronaldo off their rich history.

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best players to have played the game of football, and he was arguably the best man to have worn the Los Blancos shirt as well.  During his 9 year stint, the Portuguese International was not short of lifting some major trophies collectively and won several individual accolades as well.

Those several individual accolades include the five Ballon d’Or which is given to the best player of the year. During his time, he has won four Champions League which is a surreal accomplishment.

After making plenty of fans and winning several trophies, the Portuguese International decided to move to Juventus in the summer transfer window for a fee of 100 million. By wrapping his signature, the stock market of their rose up to 47% in a single month which is astonishing.

On and off the field, he has the capability to make such an impact within short span of time.

According to Forbes, Real Madrid were valued at 1.3 billion before the arrival of Ronaldo. The stock has risen nearly four times in nine years, valued around at 4.09 billion currently which is the second most only second to Manchester United.

The Los Blancos posted an article to congratulate four players including Luka Modric, Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane, and Marcelo who were included in UEFA’s team of the year.

Despite playing a huge part in the Los Blancos’ Champions League campaign, his name was nowhere to be seen on the website. It has become a regular habit for Real Madrid by downplaying his significance.

According to Daily Mail, Following his move to Juventus in the summer transfer window, he was unfollowed by Real Madrid on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. On the other hand, his old club Manchester United still follow him on every social media.

Besides, the leading top scorer of Real Madrid does not have a place in club’s main photo choices for the ‘Football history’ and ‘Football Legends’ sections. The five-time Champions League winner has missed out his spots to Alfredo Di Stefano and Zinedine Zidane.

“If they want to feature another player’s greatest moments and there are highlights of him scoring from Ronaldo’s assists or assisting a Ronaldo goal, then they will go looking for other highlights clip involving other players,” said Daily Mail’s Pete Jenson.

There are so many cases where many changes can be made, but they have refused to do it and keep Ronaldo in one part of the photo rather than celebrating his success during his stint.

The newspaper also claims that Ronaldo’s clips are shown then and there only when there is the time in Real Madrid’s TV which has become frustrating for some of the fans.

This may be down to the president of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez who did not have a great relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo during last his few years at Real Madrid. The Portuguese International also did say that he is the main reason for his departure from the Capital city of Spain.
