Real Madrid vs Leganes prediction

TheSportsRush brings Real Madrid vs Leganes prediction and betting odds, as Lopetegui’s side aims to continue their winning run.

Real Madrid will host Leganes at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Saturday night’s clash. The Whites are catching form in La Liga Santander having racked up two successive wins over Getafe and Girona. Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale with two goals each are Madrid’s top scorers in the league, with Sergio Ramos and Dani Carvajal also getting one each.

Meanwhile, Leganes are yet to win a match since the Spanish top flight has been kicked off and just have one out of a possible six points. Athletic Bilbao beat them 2-1, before a 2-2 draw against Real Sociedad gave them the first point of the season. Jonathan Silva and Nabil El Zhar have been among the goals for them.

Real Madrid sit tight on top of the table behind Barcelona with a goal difference of +5, while Leganes find themselves in twelfth place ahead of Monday’s final fixtures of the third match week.

Leganes have failed to get the better of Real Madrid in the La Liga in the last two seasons, at the Butarque, they were beaten 3-1 and 4-2 over the last seasons while they tasted a 3-0 and 2-1 defeat at the Bernabeu. However, Leganes did manage to beat Real Madrid at the Estadio Bernabeu last season in a 2-1 Copa del Rey triumph.

PREDICTION

Real Madrid will be hoping for a third win on the trot while Leganes will go to their city neighbours with their eye towards getting the first.

Real Madrid have been tipped to win the match 1/4, 2/7 and 2/9 by Bet 365, Betway and Betfair respectively while Leganes’ chances are tipped to be as low as 11/1, 9/1 and 11/1 respectively.

As far as my prediction is concerned, I would go for a 3-0 success for the home team. Real Madrid’s defence should be able to look after Leganes’ attack while the Madrid attackers will find openings which will be duly punished.

Maybe a 4-0 or 5-0 victory is on the cards, but the Pepineros are yet to get off the mark and as a result, Julen Lopetegui might slightly tinker with his team. My guess is for Odriozola, Vazquez and Courtois to start with Carvajal, Asensio and Navas to be benched for this one. Also, Varane and Modric are likely to start in place of Nacho and Isco.
