Spanish outlet El Chiringuito claims that Real Madrid want Iago Aspas, and have an agreement in place for the forward.

Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo went their own ways this summer, following the club’s all-time top goal scorer’s departure to Juventus. With Ronaldo going, Madrid had to forego and average of fifty goals per season, a statistic which very few players in the market can match.

Neymar, Eden Hazard and Kylian Mbappe were all on the Whites’ radars this summer. As per reports, they could still make a move for one of the Paris Saint-Germain forwards if the French club is taken into scrutiny on grounds of UEFA Financial Fair Play Regulations. On the other hand, several goal scoring forwards are also on their radar.

The name of Rodrigo has been speculated with Real Madrid in recent days. The Valencia striker has a pretty good relationship with Julen Lopetegui in addition to being a lethal striker. He was among La Liga’s top goal scorers last season with twenty odd goals. However, his price tag of 120 million euros has put Real Madrid off as the club believes that he is not worth that much.

Celta Vigo’s Iago Aspas has now emerged as another potential target for the defending European champions, according to El Chiringuito. His price tag of 40 million euros makes Real Madrid feel that he is affordable, as opposed to Rodrigo’s 120 million euros. He has also been the top Spanish La Liga scorer in the last few years.

However, the former Liverpool man who just turned 31 has always affirmed about his desire to stay with Celta. That being said, he also took into consideration a potential change in the market demand. Everything now points towards Florentino Perez’s approval towards signing a forward with the links to big names still on.

It seems like the Real Madrid president still has hopes of getting one of Paris Saint-Germain’s star men, and could do so if the Ligue 1 champions are slapped with a UEFA FFP penalty.
