Arrivabene replaced as Ferrari team principal: Gazetta dello Sport report that Ferrari have decided to appoint Binotto as team principal, with Arrivabene making way.
Ferrari are working hard towards correcting things for the upcoming F1 season and the first step has been taken in that direction, as according to Gazetta dello Sport, John Elkann has decided to appoint Binotto as team principal and replace Arrivabene, essentially ending the power struggle at Ferrari.
Arrivabene was often criticised last season for not being upto the mark with his strategic calls, especially all of the in-race strategy that he was in charge of.
Binotto, who was looking after the techincal aspect of Ferrari, and managed to dish out a superior car than Mercedes for a large part of 2018, was seen as a worthy successor.
A power struggle emerged in the Ferrari ranks, as Arrivabene’s decision making was costing the team dear, and was bringing down all of the work that the technical team had done back home.
BLESS YOU FERRARI IF YOU DID THIS.
MATTIA BINOTTO AS TEAM PRINCIPAL IS THE BEST NEWS OF THE YEAR 😁 https://t.co/Wha1yyt8Hw

Arrivabene was heavily criticised by fans too last year, as they were largely growing frustrated with how Ferrari were missing out on crucial points in the championship race due to lack of good quality strategic calls.
However, it still remains to be seen how Ferrari actually deploy Binotto next year, as he was extremely successful in a technical role.
A move away from the technical side should hopefully not put that aspect of Ferrari’s development in jeopardy.
So finally @ScuderiaFerrari has made the decision and Arrivabene is gone. He will be replaced by Binnotto.

It is well known Ferrari is a very political org so I guess Arrivabene could not get all the team behind him for the 2018 challenge. Yes, I hope Binotto does a better job.

Do you think it is wise on Ferrari’s part to sack Arrivabene?
