After completing the ongoing third Test match between India and South Africa in Ranchi, India’s next international assignment will be the home series against Bangladesh.
India are scheduled to host Bangladesh for three T20Is and two Test matches next month. It is worth mentioning that it will be the first time when Bangladesh will be playing two formats on a tour to India.
Sourav Ganguly, who will take over as BCCI President on October 23, said he would talk to the selectors and captain Virat Kohli on October 24 about MS Dhoni’s future. “We’ll have to see what Dhoni wants. I’ll also speak to him,” Ganguly said. #SportsNews #Cricket #TV9News pic.twitter.com/xMLQALqMc4

In the past, the only T20I which India and Bangladesh have played in India reminds one of veteran wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s cunning run-out to dismiss Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman and win the match on the last ball during the ICC World Twenty20 2016.
Virat Kohli likely to miss Bangladesh T20Is
If reports doing the rounds are to be believed, India captain Virat Kohli is likely to be given a break from the T20I series against Bangladesh. The move will keep Kohli refreshed for the Test series in the same month. Furthermore, it will India a chance to try a rookie batsman in the top-order.
“Yes, he [Virat Kohli] will be skipping the T20 series [vs Bangladesh] as he has been playing non-stop and needs a break considering that he has been part of the Australia series, the IPL, the World Cup, the tour of West Indies and now the series against South Africa.
“Managing the workload of the players, especially those playing all formats, is something that is a priority with this team to ensure that the players are fresh and on the top of their game at all times,” a source in the vicinity of the selection committee was quoted as saying.
The selectors will meet on October 24 to select the team for three T20Is. It is the same date when the newly-elected BCCI President Sourav Ganguly will also meet the selectors. If Kohli is indeed given the rest, limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma will lead the side in his absence.
