Roberto Firmino Injury News: Jurgen Klopp makes massive decision over Liverpool star's inclusion for the CL Finals

Roberto Firmino injury news: Liverpool have confirmed 26-man squad for a training camp ahead of the Champions League finals.

Liverpool will head to Marbella before taking on Tottenham Hotspur in the finals of the Champions League. The Reds will train for more than a week in a training set up based in Spain and the huge clash at Wanda Metropolitano will follow on June 1.

The whole squad set off from John Lennon airport on Monday afternoon, with Jurgen Klopp selecting 26 players to work with on the Andalusian coast. The Reds receive a huge boost as Roberto Firmino and Naby Keita find a way to force into Klopp’s plans for the training setup.

Roberto Firmino posted videos of him on Instagram training with a club official for over two days. On the other hand, Naby Keita, who suffered a bad injury when Ivan Rakitic fouled him during the first leg of the Champions League Semifinals, will continue to be assessed.

Klopp confirmed that the midfielder would be out for the rest of the campaign and AFCON, but Guinea manager, Paul Put has claimed that Keita has gone to Switzerland to refer their consultant. Put expects him to be fit for the Champions League finals, at the minimal.

Jurgen Klopp will be hoping to see both of them fit and firing for the grand finale in Madrid. Youngster Rhian Brewster, who was part of Liverpool’s squad during historic comeback against Barcelona has been included in the squad. Long-term absentee Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain finds a place in the 26-man shortlist.

Training camp squad: Alexander-Arnold, Alisson Becker, Rhian Brewster, Fabinho, Roberto Firmino, Joe Gomez, Jordan Henderson, Curtis Jones, Naby Keita, Caoimhin Kelleher, Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Sadio Mane, Joel Matip, Simon Mignolet, James Milner, Alberto Moreno, Origi, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Andy Robertson, Mohamed Salah, Xherdan Shaqiri, Daniel Sturridge, Virgil Van Dijk, Georginio Wijnaldum, Ben Woodburn.

Jurgen Klopp will have multiple options to come off the bench if required, as 12 players are allowed to sit on the substitute’s bench in the finals.
