One of the greatest strikers to have ever played in the Premier league, Robin Van Persie is looking to make one final move to the country that made him into a global superstar.

Van Persie began his career with Feynoord, before his short temper got him into trouble with the coach which eventually landed him in the reserve team. But thankfully for him, Arsene Wenger put faith in his obvious talent and brought him to Arsenal.

Van Persie, along with Fabregas, Nasri and Song were the leaders of a new Arsenal that had a new home at the Emirates Stadium. Although plagued with injuries at the beginning of his career, Van Persie blossomed at 28, when he started to truly establish himself as a leading goal scorer.

He scored a career high 37 goals in what turned out to be his last season at Arsenal before making a controversial move to Manchester United.

Van Persie quickly endeared himself to the Old Trafford as his goals were one of the primary reasons why Sir Alex Ferguson was able to retire as a champion.

And now it looks like he will return as Crystal Palace’s new coach Frank de Boer is looking to bring in the Dutchman from Fenerbahce. This is what he had to say after joining the club.

“I want a team where the fans are excited to come to our games, to see a team that wants to win and wants to fight for every minute,” said De Boer of his vision for the club. “ That’s always the starting point for me. [At Ajax] it’s also in our DNA to try and play technical football and dominate. When you do that and do that well it’s a plus, it’s attractive and it looks nice.

While his wages may prove to be a stumbling block, Van Persie is keen on having a strong season in a strong league in order to be fit for the World Cup.

So you would not bet on Van Persie not joining would you?
