Rohit Sharma sends a beautiful message to Steve Smith on his 2nd Ashes Double Hundred
Steve Smith’s rise in cricket has been a phenomenal story. From a lanky, young leg-spinner who wasn’t at all known for his batting prowess, to becoming the best test match batsman of this generation; Steve Smith has provided all onlookers with a story to cherish for a lifetime.
Having scored that gritty 109 on a venom spitting Pune track, Smith had cemented his place at the top of the pack, but this Ashes series has taken him a mile or two further.
Smith along with Marsh took the game away from England today morning, scoring at a brisk pace and giving absolutely no chance to the England pacers, who kept toiling away, all day long.
Smith brought up his double in 301 balls, to essentially ensure Australia’ win in the 2017-18 Ashes.
The beauty about this knock has been how easy he has the made the conditions look, and how he hasn’t provided the English bowlers with even a sniff.
Social media went crazy as Smith reached the landmark figure, flooding twitter with superlatives for Smith.
Rohit Sharma was one of those who poured in his appreciation for Smith’s flamboyant knock, saying that he just did not look like getting out.
“What a player Steve Smith. Doesn’t look like he’s going to get out. Does he?” Rohit Sharma tweeted.

Australia currently lead England by 97 runs with an hour of play to go. It seems like Australia will post a lead of at least 250 and would look to bowl out England on Day 4 and or the by the 1st session of Day 5 to clinch the Ashes.
