Romanian fans booed and chanted when a minute silence was observed for the remembrance of Xana Enrique.
Luis Enrique was appointed as the national coach after the 2018 World Cup. The Spaniard had a good start by winning five out of seven games and instilled the tiki-taka football.
Fans were enjoying the old style of football which was played under Vicente De Bosque, but he suddenly stepped down last June, citing personal reasons. There were many rumours going on, but the Spaniard refused to divulge it to the media.
It turned out that his daughter Xana Enrique was battling out bone cancer during this period. And tragically, Xana passed away on 29th August at the age of nine.

Condolences from world football rushed in for Luis Enrique and his wife Elena after the news broke.
Robert Moreno took over as the head coach of Spain. But, he revealed that he’d step aside if Luis Enrique wanted his job back.
And in respect, Romania and Spain decided to hold a minute silence before the kick-off of the EURO2020 Qualifier.
However, a small set of fans chanted when the whole stadium was remembering the young child. This forced the other fans to boo and provide the much-needed soothe to the Spaniards inside the stadium.
Seems like the Romania fans didn’t respect the minute’s silence in memory of Luis Enrique’s daughter Xana…#ROMvsESP pic.twitter.com/dePjGKkGYA

It’s disgraceful behaviour and the fact that a small set of fans, who should be labelled as hooligans, must be sentenced for this criminal action.
The Romanian bench was visibly struck by this bizarre move from a small chunk of fans, who continue to disrespect other human beings.
It was just to show some solidarity to the man who lost his nine-year-old daughter.
