Coming on the back of their maiden IPL 2019 victory against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals would be looking to continue their winnings momentum against Kolkata Knight Riders tonight. While Royals have only won one out of four matches played so far, Knight Riders have won three out of the four matches played so far.
Having won and lost a match each on their home ground, Rajasthan wouldn’t want to let another opportunity go. Knowing the fact that another loss will start to make things difficult for them, Royals wouldn’t want to reach a stage from where coming back would seem daunting.

Top-order
Royals captain Ajinkya Rahane has looked impressive in the four matches that he has played so far but needs to convert his starts into more responsible innings. Given his ability to play the anchor role, one feels Rahane’s average of 29.75 should rise if Royals are to rise up the ladder in IPL 2019.
With Sanju Samson most likely to resume his duty at No. 3, the 24-year old cricketer will unequivocally bolster their batting unit tonight.
Middle-order
There is no going in a safe house regarding the certitude that Royals’ overseas duo of Steve Smith and Ben Stokes are yet to portray their archetype self. With both of them playing four matches and not performing up to the expectations, one expects either one of them to take on the KKR bowlers tonight.
24 overs, 7 wickets and an economy rate of 6.5! Our spin duo has been on a roll!

An affirmative for the Royals has been the form of Rahul Tripathi. With Samson coming back, Tripathi is most likely to bat at No. 6. His strike rate of 145.09 in IPL 2019 should aid RR during the slog overs. At No. 7, all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham will have to play a similar role which Andre Russell plays for the Knight Riders.
Bowlers
Barring leg-spinner Shreyas Gopal, Rajasthan Royals’ Indian bowlers are yet to prove their mettle in the tournament. In Dhawal Kulkarni, Jaydev Unadkat, Krishnappa Gowtham and Varun Aaron, RR’s Indian set of bowlers have either not dismissed opposition batsmen or have ended up conceding plentiful runs.
While RR have benefited from the individual spells of Jofra Archer and Stokes, both their overseas bowling contenders would be hoping for the Indians set to come good especially against Knight Riders who have Russell in their lineup.
