Sachin Tendulkar vs Ben Stokes: Fans severely criticize ICC for them rating Stokes over Tendulkar on Twitter

Sachin Tendulkar vs Ben Stokes: ICC’s tweet hasn’t gone down well with the Indian fans on social media platform Twitter.

There is no hiding to the fact that England all-rounder Ben Stokes is arguably having the summer of his life. While it started with him making England win their inaugural ICC Cricket World Cup last month, it has also seen him play a heroic knock to seal a 359-run target during the Headingley Test.

His achievement has seen Stokes getting compared to the legendary Sir Ian Botham. It remains to be seen is Stokes will play a titular role in England regaining the Ashes. However, what is confirmed at this point in time is that the 30-year old cricketer can do no wrong with the bat in hand.

After winning the World Cup, Stokes had received his Man of the Match award from legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. The official Twitter handle of the Cricket World Cup posted an image of the two cricketers and captioned it – “The greatest cricketer of all time – and Sachin Tendulkar”.

The post had not been accepted warmly by the Indian fans who felt that such a caption is like an insult for the Indian stalwart. With the official handle of ICC retweeting the photo yesterday, it has further let down the Indian fans, who have once again severely criticized the move by ICC.

The optimist in him is waiting for the day when Punjab Kings will win their maiden Indian Premier League title.
