Liverpool has totally annihilated Manchester City at the Anfield. The Reds have dominated the game since the first minute of the game and it continued to remain so until the final whistle.

Liverpool secured the win after Sadio Mane’s goal in the second half, ending all the possibilities for the visitors to make a dramatic comeback in the game.

Although, not to forget that it came from a terrific cross by Jordan Henderson which tore Manchester City’s defence apart within seconds. The English midfielder took the ball aside by defeating Ilkay Gundogan.

From there, Henderson took the ball near Manchester City’s right corner and delivered a pinpoint pass to Mane, who was waiting to kill the chance, as beautiful the pass was, the finish was equally mesmerizing, as Mane dived in to head the ball inside, giving no chance to Claudio Bravo.

This goal shattered all the hope for Manchester City to make a comeback, as the three-goal deficit was too much for the Citizens. In the end, the defending champions were left with a consolation goal to make it 3-1 by the end of the game.

Further, the match has justified its hype and was also covered with controversy, as Manchester City was denied a penalty by VAR over an alleged handball foul by Trent Alexander Arnold inside Liverpool’s 18-yard box.

Nevertheless, Liverpool ends the game with three points in their kit and would be clear at the top of the table with 8 points above Leicester City and Chelsea, who are placed at 2nd and 3rd place respectively. Meanwhile, Manchester City slips at the fourth position.
