Scott McTominay goal vs Man City

Scott McTominay goal vs Man City: Ederson howler gifts Man Utd another goal in extra time in the Manchester Derby in the Premier league.

Manchester United have just pulled a double over Manchester City for the first time in a decade. While their players are to be credited for the exceptional performance, City fans have Ederson’s abysmal performance on the night to blame.

With City desperately chasing the equaliser with the clock ticking down, the City goalkeeper decided to toss the ball out. However, the careless throw landed at Scott McTominay’s feet who sent a shot from 30-yards out!

The ball arrowed in from distance to effectively end City’s hopes of getting a point out of the match. As soon as the ball found its way into the net, Old Trafford erupted into a roar. The race for a Champions league, no longer just an aspiration but a very real possibility.

Earlier in the game, Ederson was also at fault for United’s opening goal. The keeper failed to get down in time from a shot off Anthony Martial to the near post. The ball sneaked past him from under his gloves and essentially broke his side’s back.

With that goal, Anthony Martial has now become the first United player since Cristiano Ronaldo to score in both wins over Manchester City in the very same season.

Manchester United are now currently 5th on the table with only 3 points separating them from Chelsea. However, with a Champions League ban looming over their noisy neighbours, a 5th place finish could be enough to secure them a spot among Europe’s elite.
