Sergio Ramos asks Real Madrid to sign a striker in January

Real Madrid captain and icon, Sergio Ramos has reportedly requested the Real Madrid board to bring in a striker this month, in an attempt to solve the side’s recent goal scoring problems.

The two-time defending European champions are in a terrible rut, as they are already 19 points off arch rivals Barcelona. While the Catalans have been imperious, Madrid have struggled to rediscover last season’s form, that saw them complete the league and Champions league double.

Real Madrid boss, Zinedine Zidane is under immense pressure as he knows that an early exit from the champions league to could spell curtains for his time as Madrid boss.

Zidane has publicly said that they will not be looking to bring anyone in, as he is confident in the players that he has in the dressing room.

“I don’t need anyone and that’s that,” he said.

“I don’t want anybody. We have a squad, we started with them and I believe in my players.

“There are always difficult times during the season, which is what you’re trying to convey, but I don’t think like that.

“There’s everything to play for and we’ll see what happens at the end of the season, which is when things are analysed.”

One forward who is eager to move this January is Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez. It was assumed that Sanchez would move to Manchester City this month, but a sudden twist saw Manchester United swoop in for the Chilean.

Jose Mourinho has reportedly grabbed Sanchez from City’s grasp, as United are willing to match his wage demands and make him one of the highest paid players in the premier league.

But that deal hinges on Henrik Mkhitaryan going to Emirates, as Wenger will sanction Sanchez’s departure only after the Armenian joins Arsenal. The delay in the deal going through has created more issues, as Chelsea and Liverpool have also made their interest known to Arsenal.

And if things were not muddled up enough, Real Madrid could also make a last ditch attempt to buy Sanchez this month.

Sanchez was a target for Madrid in the summer, but they did not put in a formal bid for the Chilean. That could change now though, as Sanchez would certainly be a great buy for Los Blancos.

Time to wait and watch!
