Serie A Chief claims Premier League will declare season cancelled soon
Udinese director, Pierpaolo Marino has made the sensational claim that the Premier League will soon release a statement announcing the decision to bring the current season to an end.
Udinese is owned by the Pozzo family who also own Watford, one of the 20 Premier League clubs.
Marino told Sportitalia:
“The Belgian Federation has already sanctioned the end of their league, despite the threats of sanctions from UEFA.
“In England, the Premier League is about to release a similar statement, because the situation there is becoming very, very serious. I frankly just hope we can enjoy football again after the coronavirus.
“It doesn’t matter how long it takes; we need to get out of this danger zone. I am worried for the next seasons, not the old one.”
If the Premier League does get cancelled, it will be interesting to see how the FA deal with the fall out. Will Liverpool be named champions? Who will qualify for the Champions League and which teams get relegated?
