Tammy Abraham wins Chelsea fans over with heart-warming gesture for Michi Batshuayi after he scored the winner against Ajax.
Chelsea have put the loss against Valencia at home behind them after consecutive away wins vs Ajax and Lille before them. This extends their unbeaten away run in European games to 9. They have won 7 of them.

Chelsea have also recorded six consecutive wins in all competitions on the trot now. Frank Lampard has to be given credit for creating a team so hungry for success despite being so young and inexperienced on the big stage.
However, with success comes insecurity. No one wants to lose their place in the starting XI and as much as the team enjoys the success of the group, there will still be others in the side looking to displace those ahead of them in the pecking order or keep the ones below them there.

21-year old Tammy Abraham however, seems to not be affected by the same powerplay. Instead it seems that the club is the first and foremost to the young English striker.
Chelsea’s new number one striker has vindicated his coach’s decision to play him ahead of Olivier Giroud by scoring 8 times in 9 premier league matches.
Michy Batshuayi is silently biding his time on the bench. However, it appears that the Belgian has overtaken Olivier Giroud in the pecking order as he replaced Tammy Abraham in Chelsea’s Champions League match vs Ajax yesterday.
Batshuayi proved Lampard’s decision to play him ahead of Giroud right as he converted a brilliant assist from Christian Pulisic to score the winner with just few minutes from time. The first man to celebrate the goal with Batshuayi? None other than Tammy Abraham.
The young Englishman went to congratulate the man who is in direct competition for the lone striker’s position in the playing XI. In doing so, he earned a lot of respect from the Chelsea fans who were heartened by his desire to see Chelsea do well.
Tammy Abraham embodies everything I love about this Chelsea team. Talented, sure, but hardworking, passionate & selfless.
Saturday he went wild when Alonso scored a goal he really wasn’t a part of, and yesterday he was so happy to see Michy, his ST competition, score.

Frank Lampard was visibly excited from his team’s performance. After the match, he said:
“I’m delighted with every element of the performance,”
“It feels huge – it’s just six points in the group and we play Burnley on Saturday. But I think we’re allowed to be excited tonight.
“That’s the blueprint. There are no excuses for us now. That’s the standard and we can’t drop it.
