The selection process for the new coach of the Indian cricket team might face a delay as the newly formed CAC (Cricket Advisory Committee) is yet to submit undertakings on conflict of interest to the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India).
If a top source within the CoA (Committee of Administrators) is to be believed, members of the CAC are all former cricketers and are pursuing interests in other capacities as well. “As of now, newly formed CAC has not given any undertaking of conflict of interest. So, the hiring process of the coach may get delayed.

“But we are expecting the undertaking soon. All are former cricketers and they are doing something or the other. Some are commentators, coach or running an academy. As of now, there is no alternative. We are expecting the undertaking soon from them,” the source was quoted as saying to ANI on Wednesday.

The source also opened up on another concern regarding the appointment of this committee which comprises of former India captain Kapil Dev, former India batsman and coach Anshuman Gaikwad and former India Women player Shanta Rangaswamy.
“This CAC will have three members and they will also see that there is no conflict of interest. Whether this CAC team can be appointed or not is also a major concern as the CAC can only be formed in Annual General Meeting (AGM), but we will see what will happen,” the source added.
Captain has voiced his preference. One of the CAC members has done the same for the position of Team India’s Head Coach. Good luck to the ones who’re still applying or have already applied.

Before leaving for West Indies for an imminent tour, India captain Virat Kohli had voiced his opinion on whether the current Head Coach in Ravi Shastri should continue as the coach or not. The Indian skipper also revealed his role in the selection process.
“The CAC hasn’t contacted me yet. If they want my opinion, I’ll go and speak to them. With Ravi Bhai [Shastri], we share a great camaraderie, and will definitely be very happy if he continues. But I haven’t been contacted so far,” Kohli had mentioned.
