Ever since their stay in the Pro Kabaddi League, Telugu Titans have been one of the most under-whelming sides of the league. Despite always making a foray into every season with a slew of star raiders and defenders, the side have never managed to justify the exuberant potential in them, seeing third place finish result as the best outing for the team.
Looking to finally unlock their understated sublime skill set and grace, the side ended up splashing the cash of last season Debutant Of The Year, Siddharth Desai. After losing Rahul Chaudhari to Tamil Thalaivas, the outfit were in dire need of a worldclass raider to take the onus of the attacking department for them and in lieu of that they ended up shelling out Rs.1.45 crore on Desai.

What To Expect From The Side In PKL 2019
Massively overhauling their squad as well as the team management, Telugu Titans turned to new but experienced names to herald a new beginning of compelling success for the side. From letting go of their entire Indian bunch of star players which included Rahul Chaudhari, the side were among one of those who indulged in the most hectic parlays at the auctions.

Paying full attention to their backline as well, the side got in two coveted names in the form of Abozar Mohajermighani and Vishal Bhardwaj, making the unit one of the most complete and well rounded sides ahead of the upcoming seventh season of PKL.
The side have also roped in U Mumba’s coach, in Iran’s Gholamreza Mazandarani, a name who was pivotal in roping in Siddharth Desai to the Telegu Titans outfit from his old unit.
“We have a very young side and I feel that combination of Vishal Bharadwaj and the exciting Siddharth Desai should test the best of the opposition. Overall, we have a very good, balanced team on hand which should deliver the results,” Gholamreza Mazandarani said.
“Quite naturally, we want to be the champions. But, it is not going to be easy as all the teams look good on paper with some quality players. But again, I personally believe any team is good only on the ground out there and not on paper. So, I will try my best to see Titans give off their best performances consistently,” he said talking about his side’s chances of winning the league.

Siddharth Desai
Replaying Rahul Chaudhari with Siddharth Desai, the side earmarked the U Mumba raider as the man they wanted to repose their faith in as they doled out a colossal Rs.1.45 crore for his services. It was the previous edition of PKL which saw Desai being held in such high stature after he put in a scintillating display with his rapid hand touches proving too fast for defenders to curtail.
He ended up amassing a bagful of points as he finished PKL 6 as the third highest scoring raider with 218 points. And now the side will be looking at him to emanate the same displays and transition his side from an inconsistent outfit into clear challengers for the glistening trophy this time around.
Vishal Bhardwaj
Having named Vishal Bhardwaj as their captain, the side made it clear that with the raiding department having been addressed, the backline was equally important to them. Getting in the defender for Rs.60 lakh, the side will be turning to his tutelage and immense acumen of the defensive side of the game to help imbed a culture of excellence in the side.
His recent stays in the league have seen him halt opposition raiders with his chain-arm blocks, ankle and thigh holds and an extremely quick movement which has seen him fruitfully bring in a hoard of tackling points for the side.
Abozar Mighani
An integral part of his side’s defence, Iranian Abozar Mighani has emerged as one of the key components of his side since switching over from the Gujarat Fortunegiants. With a staggering 121 tackle points in 45 matches which include 10 super tackles, the stalwart alongside Vishal has formed a daunting two man defensive partnership for the side.
Handling the team’s right corner position, the defender is a name who is held in massive reverence for the fortitude he shows in defence. He’s going to need to resonate the same level of performances which have seen himself establish his name among the pinnacle of defenders and reverberate the same rousing displays if Telugu Titans are to finally make it to the summit clash.
