Thomas Partey to Arsenal: The Gunners are reportedly monitoring the 25-year old defensive midfielder, who currently plays for Atletico Madrid.

Arsenal have taken active steps in the transfer market, according to various reports. Ever since the arrival of Unai Emery at the Emirates, Arsenal underwent a minor club-overhaul, which saw the departure of Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla, two of the mainstays of the midfield.

The Gunners made five signings in the summer, and the results have been terrific for Arsenal so far. Unai Emery’s side is on a nine-match winning streak across all competitions.

Arsenal won six matches in a row in the Premier League after a dismal start to the campaign, which saw them losing both of their opening matches to Man City and Chelsea respectively.

The Gunners are now only two points behind both the sides, who are first and second in the table. With 18 points, Arsenal are fourth, ahead of their city rivals Tottenham Hotspur on goal difference.

Unai Emery, however, is reportedly keen on making more transfer signings, and the recent reports from Ghana suggest that Arsenal are monitoring their star midfielder Thomas Partey.

Thomas Partey to Arsenal:

Partey currently plays for Atletico Madrid. He has been a key figure in the midfield for the Spanish club, and played 50 games throughout the season for Diego Simeone’s side. He won the Europa League, and finished second with Atletico Madrid in the 2017/18 season.

This season, however, Simeone hasn’t been inclined to play him as much as he did in the previous season. Even when Partey has played in 7 La Liga games, his average playing time has been a meager 40 minutes/match.

Arsenal are reportedly monitoring the defensive midfielder, but they are not alone. According to reports from Ghana, French champions Paris Saint Germain are also eyeing a move for the player.

What next?

Diego Simeone is searching for the replacement of Partey at Atletico Madrid, according to reports. Arsenal are expected to lock horns with Paris Saint Germain over his signature.

Meanwhile, the Gunners are set to lose Aaron Ramsey next year, as the player confirmed the broken talks over a new contract during the international break. Ramsey, however, insisted that he won’t leave the club in January and will see off his contract.

Miguel Almiron, the Paraguayan international who currently plays for MLS side Atlanta United, is seen as the replacement for the Ramsey.
