While fans from all over the world have tried to copy their dressing sense, it is their tattoos that have captured the imagination of the watching audience in recent years.
What makes this even more interesting is the fact that tennis players usually had a cookie-clean image initially but it has evolved into something far more that that over the years.
We have seen some fantastic as well as some downright awful tattoos that have been sported by tennis stars over the years. And we as the audience has lapped them all in.
Here are the top five tattoos in recent tennis history!

4) Anna Kournikova
While Anna Kournikova has made a lot of headlines both on and off the pitch, it is her famous tattoo that will always remain a subject of great interest.
She has a tattoo on her lower back which people glimpse in her matches. But she has always avoided talking about it.
I guess to each her own !
3) Stan Warwinka
Stan Warwinka has had a great tennis career. But he will always be remembered for his famous tattoo rather than for any of his matches.
“Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try Again. Fail again. Fail better.” It was a positive tattoo which unusually garnered a lot of appreciation from tattoo fans all over.
The fact that he beat Novak Djokovic after losing to him 14 times in a row just added to the poignancy !
2) Karoliina Pliskova
Karolina Pliskova is a Czech player who has one of the most fierce serves in world tennis today. She had a great 2016 in which she also made it to the US Open final by eliminating both the Williams sisters along the way.
But it is her tattoo which she has inked on her thigh which is probably more famous than her service currently in world tennis.
