Chennai Super Kings defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad to lift their third IPL title.
The MS Dhoni-led side made an emphatic comeback in this season’s IPL, as they defeated the Sunrisers by 8 wickets to lift the IPL trophy. This is their third IPL trophy since the tournament’s inception in 2008.

CSK won the toss and chose to bowl first. Yusuf Pathan starred in the SRH innings, as his quickfire 45 off 25 deliveries led the Hyderabad team to 178 for the loss of 6 wickets. Kane Williamson top-scored with 47 runs, but was stumped midway through the innings as he attempted to hit a ball wide outside-off towards cover. It was a combined bowling effort from CSK, as every bowler bar Deepak Chahar grabbed a wicket. Chahar, although, kept the lines stiff as he bowled with an economy rate of 6.25.
Chennai had a slow start and Faf du Plessis soon gave away his wicket as he was caught and bowled by Sandeep Sharma. Shane Watson had a poor start as he failed to score a run in the first 10 balls. However, he opened up after the dismissal of Faf, as him and Raina added 116 runs for the second wicket. Shane Watson completed his century in the 17th over and led the CSK side to their third IPL title.

Yusuf Pathan this IPL:
Against CSK: 114 runs (3 innings)
Against all other oppositions combined: 146 runs (10 innings) #CSKvSRH— Umang Pabari (@UPStatsman) May 27, 2018
Don’t think CSK would be too unhappy with the way they finished the innings. This is a fairly achievable total #SRHvCSK #CSKvSRH #IPL2018Final #IPL2018

How to score a century the @ShaneRWatson33 way:
1) Don’t score off your first 10 balls 🚫
2) Reach 💯 off the next 41 balls! What an innings! Just the second player ever to score a ton in an IPL final 👏#IPL2018Final #CSKvSRH pic.twitter.com/ihXkbHqwwm
