Shikhar Dhawan was dropped from the second test match, and KL Rahul was shifted up the order with Murali Vijay.
England won the toss and chose to bowl first in the rain-hit second test at Lord’s. After the first day was completely washed out, the weather cleared for the start of second day. However, India came to bat under the cloud-cover, and both the openers faltered against James Anderson.
Murali Vijay failed to read the length properly, played an out-swinging delivery across the line and was bowled. KL Rahul, too, was caught behind on an out-swinger. Soon enough, the rain returned.
India are currently struggling at 11/2, with captain Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara at the crease.
Earlier, India made two changes in the playing XI, as Shikhar Dhawan was dropped for Pujara, while Umesh Yadav made way for Kuldeep Yadav.
Here are some of the tweets on both the dismissals:
What’s the best way to play jimmy Anderson s swinging delivery like he bowled to Murli vijay @VVSLaxman281 https://t.co/zYzEGj56gJ

Anyone else think that was more of a poor shot by Vijay than a great ball by Anderson? #ENGvIND

Of James Anderson’s 21 deliveries, Vijay faced 5, Pujara 12, Kohli 2 – KL Rahul fell on the 2nd Anderson delivery he faced.#EngvInd

Pujara also got a similar ball from Anderson just like the Vijay one.The diff.,
1. Pujara played it straight
2. Vijay was trying to hit that to square leg!
That too on a first morning in England!!!
That’s why Pujara is so important to this side even if he’s not in form #ENGvIND— Bp (@bm_bhanuprakash) August 10, 2018
Who are we?
Indian fans.
Who do we want in the Test side?
KL Rahul.
Why?
Because he plays well in the IPL.#ENGvIND

Rahul becomes victim of Anderson’s late outswing too and its looking ominous for India again. All eyes on man in form @imVkohli, but India’s top order looking pathetically inept again..

Think India should just start every inning at 10 for 2, no point wasting so much time.
And KL Rahul is struggling to impress.

KL Rahul might gets his confidence back in 6th test #INDvsENG

Absolutely here for Murali Vijay trying to flair one through midwicket in the first over of a Test when stuck in under cloud cover 🤙🏿 #EngvInd

So much respect for vijay sir, today he would have got out for zero in Tamilanadu Premier League, but he decided to do it on international stage 👏 #INDvENG https://t.co/oJfM2Jc37o
