Twitter reactions on Andre Russell’s insane knock: Twitter was left in amazement after Russell chased down 53 runs in three overs.

During the 17th match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders at Bengaluru, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 5 wickets to keep RCB unbeaten in the tournament.

Chasing a mammoth 206-run target, Knight Riders were on the verge of defeat when all-rounder Andre Russell changed the course of the match on his own. Coming in to bat at No. 6 in the 16th over, Russell scored an unbelievable 48* (13) with the help of one four and seven colossal sixes to seal the chase with five balls to spare.

After a brisk start, Kolkata ended up losing their way in the middle. Needing 66 runs to win in the last four overs, Russell backed himself to win the match the for his team.

Russell’s firepower aided KKR to score 53 runs in 13 balls. After Mohammad Siraj was barred from bowling in the 18th over, Russell hit a couple of sixes off Marcus Stoinis to provide hope for Kolkata. In the next over bowled by Tim Southee, Russell scored four sixes and a four to bring down the equation in KKR’s favour.

After KKR captain Dinesh Karthik won the toss and put the hosts in to bat, RCB scored 205-3 in their allotted quota of 20 overs on the back of a 108-run partnership for the second wicket between captain Virat Kohli and Ab de Villiers. Top-scoring for his team, Kohli ended up scoring 84 (49) with the help of nine fours and two sixes.
