Twitter reactions on Delhi Daredevils’ new name: Twitter went crazy over the new name of IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils.

IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils have changed their name to Delhi Capitals. In which was a news on the expected lines after Daredevils’ build-up to the ongoing event, it has been done in the presence on Kiran Kumar Grandhi and Parth Jindal, representing the owners of the franchise in GMR Group and JSW (Jindal South West) Sports.

Apparently, JSW had bought a 50% stake in Delhi Daredevils in March this year. “We wanted this name to mean something to each and everyone from Delhi,” Jindal was quoted as saying during the event. He further talked about all other IPL franchises not having any relation with the name of their team.

“The team has built its young core foundation and they’re now rising at national level,” Grandhi said. He also hoped of the new partnership [with JSW Sports] bringing much-needed luck for the franchise.

Delhi are one of the three franchises to have played the Indian Premier League from its inaugural edition without having won the title even once. Having tried several combination over the last 11 years, one expects them to be looking forward for a significant amount of luck now.

Former India batsman Mohammad Kaif, who has been roped in as the Assistant Coach of the franchise, was also present at the event. “I can’t wait to get started. This team has a promising core and loves the game as much as every cricketing fanatic does,” Kaif said at his new stint.
