Twitter reactions on KL Rahul's 5th T20I half-century

Twitter reactions on KL Rahul’s 5th T20I half-century: Twitter was exhilarated as the Indian opening batsman played an incredible knock.

During the first T20I of the ongoing Australia’s tour of India at Visakhapatnam, India opening batsman Lokesh Rahul scored his fifth T20I half-century to return back to the Indian team in much-needed form.

Rahul had last played in the given format for India during the tour of Australia. Having scored 27 runs in three T20Is followed by averaging 11.40 in three Tests to getting suspended from the team, the right-hand batsman had a terrible time in the recent past.

However, converting the team management’s confidence into runs is highly likely of working in Rahul’s favour. Opening the batting with vice-captain Rohit Sharma, Rahul showed first signs of aggression in the second over when he hit Australia fast bowler Jhye Richardson for a couple of boundaries.

Despite Sharma returning back to the pavilion in the following over, Rahul scored another couple of boundaries off Richardson’s next. With India captain Virat Kohli also joining the act, the duo at once gave the impression of running away with the advantage.

That being said, Rahul was seen pressing down the accelerator post Kohli’s dismissal. On the fourth delivery of the 12th over, Rahul ran a single to square leg off Australia bowler D’Arcy Short to complete his half-century.

Given the kind of shots he was playing, Rahul would have wanted to convert his half-century into a big one but that wasn’t to be. The 25-year old batsman’s attempt to up the ante saw him spooning a simple catch to Australia captain Aaron Finch at mid-off. Rahul ended up scoring 50 (36) with the help of one four and one six.

There is no hiding to the fact that Rahul’s innings has given the team management another option for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. His innings saw him enticing numerous reactions in the affirmative on social media platform Twitter.
