Twitter reactions on Quinton de Kock's fifth Test century vs India in Visakhapatnam

Twitter reactions on Quinton de Kock’s fifth Test century: Twitter was wax lyrical about the South African wicket-keeper batsman.

During the third day of the first Test of the ongoing South Africa’s tour of India in Visakhapatnam, South Africa wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock registered his fifth Test century to put his team in a respectable position in the first innings.

Coming in to bat at No. 7 in the 58th over, de Kock shared a 164-run partnership for the sixth wicket with opening batsman Dean Elgar (160). The southpaw didn’t let South Africa feel the burden of losing their captain Faf du Plessis (55) in the second session.

The best part about de Kock’s innings was the dominating manner in which he collected runs in against the Indian bowlers. Scoring 15 fours and a six on the way to his century, de Kock didn’t let the Indian bowling unit dictate terms against him.

On the fourth delivery of the 82nd over, de Kock ran a single off India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja to complete his half-century. It was on the first delivery of the 105th over that de Kock hit a superb six off Ravichandran Ashwin to reach the three-figure mark.

With South Africa losing as many as three wickets last evening and Temba Bavuma early in the morning today, it was vital for the middle-order batsmen to stand tall against the opposition especially when the had scored 502/7 dec. in their first innings.
