Twitter reactions on Virat Kohli's 39th ODI century

Twitter reactions on Virat Kohli’s 39th ODI century: Twitter was elated at watching the Indian captain dictate terms at Adelaide.

During the second match of the ongoing India’s tour of Australia at Adelaide, India captain Virat Kohli scored his 39th ODI century, playing a vital role for India in chasing the 299-run target.

The fact that it is another of Kohli’s masterclass which has come in the second innings speaks highly about him as the greatest contemporary ODI batsman while chasing totals.

Kohli came in to bat at No. 3 in the eighth over after India opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan was dismissed for 32 (28). Kohli stitched a 54-run partnership with vice-captain Rohit Sharma and 59-run partnership with middle-order batsman Ambati Rayudu.

On the penultimate delivery of the 12th over, Kohli punched a Jhye Richardson delivery through the off-side for a boundary. Eventually building on his innings, Kohli gave the impression of taking the onus on himself yet again.

On the first delivery of the 31st over, Kohli ran a couple of runs off Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell to complete his half-century. The 30-year old cricketer gave enough hints of aggression when he hit Nathan Lyon for a couple of sixes in his innings. Kohli also hit a four and six off Jason Behrendorff.

Kohli was unperturbed with the fall of both the batsmen at the other end. With India having lost the openers, perhaps the captain had realized that the only chance for them to save the series is for him to bat throughout the innings.

On the first ball of the 43rd over, Kohli ran a couple off runs off Australia fast bowler Peter Siddle to achieve the milestone.

Kohli’s innings saw him receiving a lot of approbation on social media platform Twitter. Read some of the latest Twitter reactions his knock below:
