Twitter reactions on Virat Kohli's 41st ODI century

Twitter reactions on Virat Kohli’s 41st ODI century: Twitter was exhilarated as the Indian captain scored yet another ODI century.

During the third ODI of the ongoing Australia’s tour of India at Ranchi, India captain Virat Kohli registered his 41st ODI century. In which was a magnificent innings, it saw the right-hand batsman steering the Indian innings as wickets continued to tumble around him at regular intervals.

Having scored his 40th ODI century in the second ODI at Nagpur, Kohli has now scored consecutive centuries at the highest level.

Coming in to bat at No. 3 in the fourth over, Kohli looked impressive from the word go. Depsite Australia new-ball opening pair of Pat Cummins and Jhye Richardson dismissing batsmen at the other end, Kohli caressed both of them for boundaries without wasting much time.

Kohli then shared a 59-run partnership with wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Being the dominating partner in the stand, Kohli had by this time put on display signs which cleared the air regarding him looking set for a substantial innings.

Kohli takes on Stoinis

On the first delivery of the 24th over, Kohli ran a single off Australia all-rounder Marcus Stoinis towards the third-man region to complete his 50th ODI half-century. In the same over, Kohli hit Stoinis for a couple of boundaries to not let the Indian innings get affected by Dhoni’s dismissal.

Kohli’s assault against his Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate Stoinis continued in his following over as he hit him three classic fours. Right from his balance to his timing, Kohli oozed class tonight.

The 30-year old cricketer eventually reached the landmark on the penultimate delivery of the 35th over as he hit Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell for a couple of runs.

Having lost half their side in a 314-run chase, India are is deep trouble. While the skipper has looked in midas touch till now, he still will have to do a lot more in a bid to seal another chase.

For someone who has a reputation of doing unimaginable things in the second innings, one can’t really rule India out of the chase. Having said that, it will unequivocally require another archetype Virat Kohli masterclass.
