Twitter slams KL Rahul: Fans were furious with the Indian opening batsman for another failure on the tour of Australia.

During the first day of the fourth Test of the ongoing India’s tour of Australia at Sydney, India opening batsman Lokesh Rahul was witnessed getting out cheaply for the fifth time in the Test series.
After wining the toss, India captain Virat Kohli chose to bat first. Rahul, who was brought into the playing XI in place of Rohit Sharma, opened the batting alongside Mayank Agarwal.
After being dropped for the third Test, Rahul looked tentative for the six balls that he was in the middle. Although he scored a couple of boundaries, both of them came off his outside edge in a streaky fashion. He ended up scoring 9 (6) with the help of two fours.
Failing to spend a significant amount of time in the middle, Rahul edged Australia fast bowler Josh Hazlewood’s delivery to Shaun Marsh in only the second over of the Indian innings. His inability to remove the shine off the new ball is highly likely to work against him in the long run chiefly if he fails to stand tall on his reputation in the second innings.
Since the start of 2018, Rahul has scored 468 runs in 12 Test matches (excluding the ongoing one) at an average of 22.28 and a strike rate of 59.01. Barring his 149 against England at The Oval, his 328 runs have come at an average of 14.9.
Notwithstanding the amount of talent that he possesses, such numbers have it in them to rule out any opening batsman from a Test team.
Rahul’s failure in the first innings invited plentiful critical remarks on social media platform Twitter. Read some of them below:

The question is not why KL Rahul was picked, the question is what KL Rahul has done better than MVijay to deserve yet another life line? Moreover Vijay looked better in Perth.

This is what happens when you see a lot of bollywood movies and love them and promote them like zero leaving your home soiled Kannada movie kgf which Mayank Aggarwal promoted by block buster batting#KLRahul

@BCCI please drop Virat Kohil and give this place to KL Rahul. This will justify the talent of KL Rahul. Stupid captain and coach. #bhuvi has better oversea batting record than KL Rahul. One more selection blunder.#sportstak

The year has changed but unfortunately KL Rahul hasn’t. Gets out for a single digit score once again. #AUSvIND

I do not understand why KL Rahul is getting picked after repeated failures. Today again he lasted just 6 balls. Pathetic.

Moral Victory for #KLRahul as Aussies couldn’t dismiss him on #zero. Way to go champ! #SydneyTest #INDvsAUS

Kl Rahul should have left the side after being dropped from the third test. He should go and play Ranji Trophy and score some runs. If he scores runs then only he should be brought back in the side.

Really worst decision to take kl Rahul, another failure! cause team little uncomfortable in the confidence.. it shows real politics of the Indian team.. others waiting for a chance to get in a team.. who the hell selected him for supporting Aussies 😒
