During the second day of India’s only warm-up match ahead of the Test series against Australia at Sydney, India captain Virat Kohli scored an impressive half-century to continue his good form ahead of the first Test which will from December 6 at Adelaide.
Slated to start yesterday, the first ball of the match was bowled today after play was aborted on the first day due to heavy rain. Sam Whiteman, captain of CA XI, had won the toss and put the visitors in to bat.
Kohli came in to bat at his usual No. 4 position in the 21st over. Kohli stitched a 73-run stand with Pujara as Indian batsmen started to make a mark in the warm-up match. By the time Kohli got out, he had scored 64 (87) with the help of seven fours and a six.
Despite playing an impressive innings, Kohli ended up being lashed by fans on social media platform Twitter for not supporting proper attire during the toss ceremony. Apparently, Kohli was seen arriving for the toss in shorts. Read some of the Twitter reactions on below:
