Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool had a rare off night on Tuesday night as they succumbed to a loss against Atletico Madrid. Diego Simeone put forth a defensive masterclass and outplayed the Reds to a 1-0 victory at the Wanda Metropolitano.

The likes of Renan Lodi and Felipe played out of their skins to keep Liverpool at bay. However, fans believe that it was not just their efforts but the multiple refereeing errors in the match that handed the current Champions League holders their third loss of the season.

The fans were not the only ones who felt hard done by after the match. Liverpool defenders Virgil Van Dijk and Andy Robertson made no bones about their bitterness in an interview after the match. Robertson went so far as to claim that Atletico players continuously felt over and even scored from a throw in that should have been awarded to Liverpool.
