Despite a $2,685,000,000 Difference, Conor McGregor Believes He Can Scale Michael Jordan ‘Billionaire’ Mark
Conor McGregor, without a doubt the biggest celebrity the sport of MMA has ever seen, is also one of the most famous athletes in the world. His accomplishments in the UFC, including becoming the organization’s first-ever double champion, have left his mark in everlasting ink. McGregor has built up significant earnings in addition to his athletic accomplishments. He has participated in some of the biggest bouts the UFC has ever seen, and he’s even dabbled in boxing, appearing in the second-largest fight in its history. Notably, despite losing to Floyd Mayweather in 2017, he went home with more than $100 million.
McGregor is presently ranked No. 33 on the list of the highest-paid athletes of all time. However, his desire leads him to compete with and even exceed NBA great and wealthiest player, Michael Jordan.
Conor McGregor fancies his chances of overtaking Michael Jordan
McGregor is the only MMA fighter to have made it to the list of the top 50 highest-paid athletes of all time. He currently finds himself around $2.6 billion away from the top spot, which is acquired by basketball legend Michael Jordan, who has career earnings of an astounding $3.3 billion (after adjusting for inflation).
However, speaking about the same during an interview with Megan Olivi, ‘The Notorious’ suggested that he fancy his chances of getting up on the list. He said:
“You know, Michael Jordan’s at the top spot obviously with the Jordan Brand’s up there he’s multiple billions. I think 3.3 he’s made. I’m closing in on the billion now”
With his present speed in his fighting career and other endeavors, McGregor is on his way to becoming a billionaire. Surpassing Michael Jordan, on the other hand, does not appear to be an easy task.
When is McGregor fighting Michael Chandler?
Conor McGregor’s return to the cage has been highly anticipated by the MMA world since he has been out of action for over two years following his heartbreaking loss in the trilogy match against Dustin Poirier.
While fans awaited word of his return, it was announced earlier this year that McGregor will return to the octagon to fight Michael Chandler. However, no specifics about the venue or date of this highly anticipated match have been published.
According to recent rumors, the UFC is planning to make a bout announcement shortly, especially since the new season of The Ultimate Fighter has already begun. As fans eagerly anticipate McGregor’s comeback, it will be interesting to see when the Irishman will return to the octagon.
What are your thoughts on McGregor’s next fight? What do you guys think about his words for Michael Jordan?
