Arsenal are planning to make a bid for PSG’s star Adrien Rabiot.
Arsenal announced Unai Emery’s appointment as head coach on Wednesday, and it seems the Spaniard is wasting no time in pursuing transfer targets for the summer. According to reports from Italy, Emery is targeting PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot as Arsenal’s first signing.
Unai Emery oversaw Rabiot’s rise at his previous club, and has been central to player’s development into a box-to-box midfielder. However, Rabiot was not selected for France’s squad for the world cup in Russia. This has led to midfielder pondering his future at PSG.
Calcio Mercato reports that Unai Emery is keen on reuniting with the midfielder at Arsenal. With no football for Rabiot in this summer, a trip to London might soon await.

Rabiot made 43 appearances for PSG this season, forging a strong partnership with fellow midfielder Marco Verratti. The 23-year old has won four Ligue 1 titles with the French club.
Rabiot has one year remaining in his contract with PSG, which can led to a cut in price according to the report. Calciomercato also report that along with Arsenal, Juventus are also monitoring the midfielder.
Arsenal had a disappointing campaign in the Premier League this season. The club finished 6th, 37 points behind the titles winners Manchester City. Arsene Wenger announced his resignation following the poor campaign.
Unai Emery has embraced the challenge, saying that he wants to bring the Arsenal back to Champions League and return the club to former glory.
Earlier this week, Adrien Rabiot ruled himself out of the World Cup standby list to voice his outrage. The midfielder is unhappy at not being selected in the 23-man squad, and hence withdrew from the standby list. I was obviously surprised. I can understand his immense disappointment but I’m convinced he made a huge mistake,” France manager Didier Deschamps said.
