Virat Kohli 100 vs KKR

Virat Kohli 100 vs KKR: Twitter was exhilarated as Royal Challengers captain put on display an emphatic century vs KKR.

During the 35th match of the 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Kolkata, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli propelled his team to 213/4 in their allotted quota of 20 overs on the back of his fifth IPL century.

Opening the batting with wicket-keeper batsman Parthiv Patel (11), Kohli batted throughout the innings to lead Royal Challengers to a formidable total. Starting in his quintessential manner, Kohli didn’t go too hard against the bowlers from the word go.

At the end of the powerplay, RCB had scored 42/1. Out of which, Kohli had scored 19* (17). At the halfway mark, Kohli was seen batting on 35* (29). After getting his eye in, Kohli eventually changed gears especially during the third-wicket partnership alongside all-rounder Moeen Ali.

It was only on the penultimate delivery of the innings when Kohli flicked a Harry Gurney full-toss towards Kuldeep Yadav at deep square leg. With the fielder missing the ball at the boundary, it went for a boundary and aided Kohli to achieve the milestone.

Before getting out on the last ball of the innings, Kohli ended up scoring 100 (58) with the help of nine fours and four sixes.

Royal Challengers’ innings thrived post a 95-run stand between Kohli and Ali (66). With RCB 70/2 after 10 overs, they scored as many as 143 runs in the next 10 overs. The last five overs saw RCB scoring a mammoth 91 runs.
