Virgil Van Dijk has snubbed Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, naming Sergio Aguero as the most feared striker.

Liverpool star Virgil Van Dijk has named the most feared, snubbing the five-time Ballon d’Or winners Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. The Dutch International overcame Lionel Messi in last season’s Champions League Semifinal, while lost to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal in the Nations League final.

TalkSport quizzed the defender, who is competing for the Ballon d’Or alongside those two stars this year. He has rather complemented the Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero as the most feared striker in his career.

The striker you fear most: “[Sergio] Aguero”, said Van Dijk.

Liverpool defender also snubbed Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as his favourite, divulging the Brazilian Ronaldinho as his favourite of all-time.

“[My favourite is] Ronaldinho. He was one of my idols,”

The defender went on to open up on more of his opinions about the beautiful game. The following are some of the other questions that he was asked – followed by his answers.

Liverpool scripted a historic comeback against Barcelona in the Champions League Semifinal by overcoming a 3-0 deficit in the second leg. The defender, who played a huge part, has said that it’s the best game he has played in his footballing career.

Van Dijk said:  “Against Barcelona” (the second-leg of the Champions League semi-finals last season).

The Defender also said the best game he has watched is the replay of that game against the Spanish giants.

The best match you’ve seen: “I’ve seen the second leg against Barcelona (the same game as above)”.

Your best moment: “My debut with all teams.”

The best shirt: “Liverpool’s.”

The best atmosphere in a stadium: “Anfield (Liverpool’s home stadium)”.
