Chelsea will face Leicester City in the second game week of the Premier League. Frank Lampard will hope that he can celebrate his homecoming with a victory. However, in Leicester, they will face a formidable opponent who will hope to ruin the party.

Chelsea have not had the best of starts to their campaign losing back to back matches against Manchester United and Liverpool. However, Chelsea have not been poor at all by any measure of the word. The 4-0 result at Old Trafford does not do justice to their performance and the penalty shoot out finish against Liverpool shows that they have a lot of fight in them.

Leicester City have had to cope with the loss of Harry Maguire this season. Their last match against the Wolves ended in a draw despite enjoying 70% of the possession. Both sides will hope to get their first win tonight.

Team Tactics

Frank Lampard is likely going to continue thrusting young players in the limelight and will probably hand a start to Tammy Abraham over Olivier Giroud. Pedro and Pulisic will bot helm the wings like their Super Cup match. Jorginho will play the role of the defensive midfielder and Kante will likely get his first start of the Premier League season. Kovacic will likely partner Kante in the center. Emerson, Tomori, Zouma and Azpilicueta will man the defense and Kepa will be the shot stopper.

Brendan Rogers will have to decide if he wants to mount an attacking threat against Chelsea or focus on defensive solidity. Leicester has a fully fit squad to pick from. It is likely that Rogers will also play a 4-3-3 formation. The Foxes will hope to hit Lampard’s side with pace like United did in their last match and will probably play Barnes in the wings to that effect. Barnes will be supported by Perez on the other wing with Vardy as the target man. Tielemans and Maddison will man the midfield with Ndidi playing behind them. Chilwell, Ricardo, Evans and Soyuncu will guard the goal and Schmeichel will be their last line of defense.
