Watch: Ajax score brilliant team goal in just 36 seconds! The coordinated masterpiece came against PSV in the Dutch Super Cup.
Ajax proved to be David to a lot of European Goliaths last season in Europe. If not for Lucas Moura’s hat-trick, they would have faced Liverpool in the final instead. However, it wasn’t meant to be and the Dutch side had to settle for a top 4 finish instead. Still no small feat though.

Apart from Champions League glory, Ajax also won the Dutch double. Like with most other small clubs though, the architects of the Amsterdam based club’s success did not go unnoticed by other European giants who took off with little David’s pebbles, rendering the underdog to rebuild and look for new heroes.
Ajax have lost the services of Frenkie De Jong and captain Matthijs De Ligt to Barcelona and Juventus respectively with a few others still likely to leave. Not many people gave them a chance to replicate their success. However, their opening 36 seconds against rivals PSV Eindhoven seem to suggest otherwise.
Ajax start their campaign with the Johann Cruyff Shield, which is essentially their Super Cup. The match had just begun; Ten passes and 36 seconds later they had already taken the lead.

The ball went to the goal keeper who then pushed it to the midfield. The midfielders passed it among themselves before it was sent towards an unmarked Kasper Dolberg who cleanly finished it. Ajax found themselves ahead without PSV getting in a single touch.
Looks like the David of European football is ready to pick up from where they left off last season. How they fare is anybody’s guess. What is not left to doubt however, is Ajax playing exciting football.
