Arsene Wenger made his punditry debut in the Champions League this season with the game between United and Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG rolled on to victory against Manchester United in the first leg of the Champions League tie.

Goals from Presnal Kimbembe and Kylian Mbappe secured a 2-0 win for the Parisians at Old Trafford.

With this win, Manchester United’s winning run under Solskjaer also came to an end. This was United’s first loss ever since the Norweigan took charge of the club.

The game also saw Arsene Wenger appearing as a pundit for beIN sports, and his analysis has drawn significant praise from the fans.

Arsene Wenger’s punditry:

Arsene Wenger’s comments during and after the game received appreciation from the fans. The former Arsenal manager touched upon various aspects of the game.

“The difference, technically, in speed of understanding of the game between the two teams, was huge and it became bigger as the game went on,” Wenger told BeIN Sport.

“Man United played at home and had one shot on goal in a Champions League game – that tells you the difference between the two teams.”

He also correctly predicted the scoreline of the match, stating at halftime that PSG would be two goals-up in the second half.

“Man United have a lack of ideas in the game. PSG have blocked Pogba with Marquinhos in man-to-man making.

“Chances were created with Draxler behind Pogba. With a bit more patience… they (PSG) should be 2-0 up.”

He insisted that Manchester United lost the game in the midfield, as they let PSG dominate the position in their home game.

“In the Champions League you can’t be dominated in midfield and the whole evening, Manchester United were dominated in midfield.

“PSG played with five midfielders and they never lost the ball.

“Manchester United could never win the ball back and when they had the ball they lost it very quickly because PSG dominated the midfield to win the ball back.

“They lost the battle in midfield. When you play at home and you cannot keep the ball, you’re always in trouble.”
