WATCH: Emotional fan starts sobbing uncontrollably as Alonso gives her his cap
Sport is a gateway of emotions for a lot of people, emotions that they otherwise are not able to exhibit because of societal pressures.
But when you play or watch a sport, you are allowed to be as crazy with your emotions as possible.
It’s this unadulterated, constant flow of emotions that makes fans come in touch with their true self while watching sport.
An emotional outpour was on display in Hockenheim yesterday, where a Fernando Alonso fan couldn’t control her emotions after Alonso agreed to click a selfie with her.
She started sobbing uncontrollably and Alonso, the good guy that he is, gifted her his cap.
Alonso placed it on her head and the girl took it off and hugged it while still crying uncontrollably.
It was extremely refreshing to see the kind of passion and the emotions that this fan had for Fernando Alonso who has ben such a huge ambassador for our sport, all over the world.
And it was really kind of Alonso to come up with this sweet gesture of not only granting her wish of getting a selfie clicket, but also giving her his cap.
Alonso will start from P11 today and will be hoping for a good initial phase of the race to get into a comfortable position with respect to the points that can be accumulated from the visit to Germany.
Vandoorne has been struggling with downforce for some time with his car and Alonso hopes that the mechanics can get that issue resolved as soon as possible, so as to provide Vandoorne with a driveable car.
