Hardik Pandya

Superman Hardik Pandya has put Mumbai right back into the mix of things at the Wankhede.

After the initial assault from Roy and Pant, Krunal Pandya got Mumbai a sniff back into the game with Rishabh Pant’s wicket.

However, Maxwell came out to bat and tonked young Markande for two boundaries, keeping the momentum going for Delhi.

Krunal Pandya was given the ball once again and he used his experience brilliantly, to toss the ball outside off stump and make Maxwell reach for the ball. As a result of the line and the dip imparted on the ball, Maxwell ended up slicing the ball to the cover boundary, where Hardik Pandya took one of the catches of the tournament.

Hardik had to cover a fair bit of distance , running towards his left and just as the ball was landing towards the ground, he took a leap of faith and grabbed it with both hands.

The catch was made special by the amount of distance that Pandya had to cover and then the picturesque dive that helped culminate the catch

Match Situation

The Mumbai Indians openers, Lewis and Suryakumar teed off in the powerplay, scoring 84 of the first six and providing the the Mumbai Indians power hitters with a perfect platform to launch from.

However, the lower middle order was unable to take much advantage of it and could manage only 109 runs in the next 14 overs.

The Roy-Pant show has put DD in a commanding position in the match and with Roy still there, it looks like DD could register their first win in the IPL.
