England had started off in emphatic fashion, with Roy and Buttler taking the attack to the opposition in the powerplay.
But England faltered against their biggest test in this series, the wrist spin.
Kuldeep Yadav picked up a 5-for, bamboozling the English batsmen with the wrong one and absolutely derailing the English innings.
The chase seemed pretty straightforward for India, as they had packed their team with batsmen.
KL Rahul stuck into the chase, smoking the England bowlers to all parts of the ground with his effortless stroke play.
Rahul was extremely emotional after the century, as he had waited a long time for an opportunity in the limited overs team and had finally come good after a long break.
Virat Kohli embraced Rahul after the hundred, sharing the wonderful moment with him at Old Trafford.
In the post match presentation, Kohli conceded that Rahul was emotional as he had last scored a hundred against England in Chennai and a big knock was sometime coming.
“He’s got a great technique, great temperament and is very hungry and today he was a bit emotional because the last century he scored was against England in Chennai and it’s been that long he’s been waiting for. It was a great century and a great sign for Indian cricket,” Kohli said.
