MS Dhoni greets fans: The legendary cricketer was seen meeting fans despite coronavirus threat before heading home.

Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s videos of returning to practice had been doing the rounds for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League would have given his plentiful fans a chance of watching him do his thing on a cricket ground yet again.

Having said that, with IPL 2020 getting postponed due to the outbreak of coronavirus, people will have to wait to witness the 38-year old cricketer leading Super Kings.

Dhoni, who last played competitive cricket during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, missed the West Indies tour (and all subsequent series) last year due to his training for the parachute regiment of the Indian Army in Kashmir valley. Dhoni was in the news in January when his name wasn’t to be found in the list of annually contracted Indian players.

Following the announcement regarding the postponement of the tournament, CSK have decided to send all their players back home. The preparation camp conducted by the franchise had seen the likes of Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, Kedar Jadhav, Murali Vijay, Karn Sharma, Piyush Chawla and others taking part.

On the last day before returning home, Dhoni was seen greeting his fans and all other people associated with Chennai Super Kings. The legendary cricketers shook hands, signed autographs and interacted with fans despite the coronavirus scare.

Leading Chennai Super Kings to the finals of IPL 2019, Dhoni’s 416 runs in 15 matches at an average of 83.20 and a strike rate of 134.62 including three half-centuries had seem him become the highest run-scorer for his team.
