After the second ODI of the ongoing India’s tour of New Zealand in Auckland, India fast bowler Navdeep Saini ended up giving a hilarious response while speaking during the press conference at Eden Park.
India’s media manager introduced Saini to the media and informed the reporters that the 27-year old player will be speaking in Hindi. Just as the manager said that it would be preferable to question Saini in Hindi, he funnily interfered and gave the reporters the option of Punjabi as well.
Being asked about the best opposition batsman, Saini funnily replied in Punjabi. “Mainu Guptill aiwein da lagda hai jehra thoda aggressive batsman hai, te mainu ohi jyada vadiya lagda hai [I feel that Guptill is one of the more aggressive batsman and that’s why I like him more],” Saini was quoted as saying.

Saini, who was included into the Playing XI for the second ODI after missing the first one, gave away 48 runs in 10 overs without picking any wicket.
However, it was his surprising batting skills and some eye-catching boundaries which impressed one and all. Coming in to bat at No. 9 in the 32nd over with India needing 121 off 113 yesterday, Saini stitched a 76-run partnership for the eighth wicket alongside all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja (55). Having scored 45 (49), Saini registered his career-best score across formats.
