WATCH: Ravichandran Ashwin castles Mominul Haque as he shoulders arm in Indore Test

Ravichandran Ashwin castles Mominul Haque: The Indian premier spinner made a much-needed breakthrough for the hosts.

During the first day of the first Test of the ongoing Bangladesh’s tour of India in Indore, India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed Bangladesh captain Mominul Haque to break a 68-run partnership and bring back India into the Test.

It all happened on the first delivery of the 38th over when Haque misjudged as Ashwin delivery. Expecting the slider to turn away from him, Haque only found the ball coming back into him and hitting the stumps eventually.

Coming in to bat at No. 3 in the sixth over, Haque played well for his 37 (80) with the help of six fours. Just when it seemed that Haque and and batsman Mushfiqur Rahim would post a substantial stand for their team, Ashwin made sure he picked his first wicket in the second session.

Had it not been for dropped catches by India vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane and wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha, Ashwin would have earned his first wicket pretty earlier.

It was Haque who won the toss and chose to bat earlier in the day. The only change that the hosts made to their squad was including pacer Ishant Sharma and spinner Shahbaz Nadeem who isn’t in the squad for this series.
