WATCH: Rohit Sharma hits glorious six off Shafiul Islam during masterly knock vs Bangladesh

Rohit Sharma hits glorious six off Shafiul Islam: The Indian captain started to dictate terms from the word go in Rajkot.

During the second T20I of the ongoing Bangladesh’s tour of India in Rajkot, India captain Rohit Sharma’s 18th T20I half-century played a central role in the hosts beating Bangladesh by 8 wickets. India have also drawn level the series 1-1 with the last match to be played in Nagpur on Sunday.

Chasing a 154-run target, Sharma took the attack on the Bangladeshi bowlers from the word go. Having hit a four off Shafiul Islam on the second ball that he faced, Sharma smashed Mustafizur Rahman for two fours and a six in his first over.

In what was a case of no stopping the right-hand batsman, Sharma continued to punish whosoever was introduced into the attack. Among all his eye-catching shots was one off Shafiul Islam in the sixth over.

On the penultimate delivery of the over, Sharma stepped down the track to hit a glorious shot down the track to hit his second six of the match. Coming on the back of scoring 12, 9 and 9 in his last three T20I innings, Sharma made amends in the best possible manner.

Before getting out in the 13th over, Sharma scored 85 (43) with the help of six fours and six sixes in a formidable innings. Playing his 100th match, Sharma scored his second half-century at home.

After Sharma won the toss and put the visitors in to bat, Bangladesh posted 153/6 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. 20-year old opening batsman Mohammad Naim was their top-scorer as he scored 36 (31) with the help of five fours. With bowling figures of 4-0-28-2, Chahal was the pick of the Indian bowlers.
