Umesh Yadav gets two in two

Umesh Yadav gets two in two: The Indian fast bowlers provided India with a couple of crucial wickets on consecutive deliveries.

During the third day of the second Test of the ongoing West Indies’ tour of India at Hyderabad, Indian fast bowlers Umesh Yadav dismissed two opposition batsmen in two balls as India have gained an upper hand in the match.

For the first time in this innings, West Indies hadn’t lost a wicket in more than 10 overs. It was at this point in time that Yadav was brought back into the attack by Indian captain Virat Kohli.

Continuing on his sublime form, Yadav bowled a jaffa of a delivery to dismiss Roston Chase as he played on the ball to the stumps. Dismissing Chase on 6 (22) was a bonus for India for he had scored a century in the first innings.

With the wicket coming on the last ball of the 25th over, Yadav bowled a similar delivery to dismiss Shane Dowrich (0) in a similar manner on the first ball of his next over which was also the first ball that the batsman had faced.

Having registered career-best bowling figures of 26.4-3-88-6 in the first innings, Yadav bowled with full vigour in the second one as well. Earlier, Yadav had dismissed Kraigg Brathwaite on the second ball of the innings to make early inroads into their batting line-up.

Given the way that he has bowled in this match and in the past on the Indian pitches, Yadav has presented a strong case of him being played against Australia in Australia. Someone of his strength and determination should be given opportunities on the lively pitches of Australia.

Yadav also has a chance to pick his maiden 10-wicket haul in the match. Achieving such a feat on Indian wickets speaks highly about the 30-year old bowler.
