Vinicius Performance Vs Barcelona

Watch the video of young Vinicius Junior’s performance against Barcelona which is being compared to the young Cristiano Ronaldo.

After keeping Barcelona in check during the first leg, Real Madrid could not help themselves in the second leg at Santiago Bernabeu. Courtesy must go to Luis Suarez who scored a couple and Raphael Varane’s own goal was enough to heavily defeat the Los Blancos at their own backyard.

The Blaugrana were clinical and took their chances, unlike Real Madrid. The front three of Vinicius Junior, Karim Benzema, and Lucas Vazquez missed many chances as they bowed out the Copa Del Rey in the semifinals.

Santiago Solari will take plenty of positives from the young Vinicius Junior’s performance against Barcelona who was giving a constant headache to the opponent’s defence. Despite his poor showing in the final third, he was creating chances for fun.

Under Julen Lopetegui, Vinicius Junior could not break into the starting lineup and was pivotal in Real Castilla’s setup. But, Santiago Solari has been constantly handing over chances to the Brazilian who has been blowing hot and cold. That is normal to see a youngster perform inconsistently.

However, some fans already see shadows of Cristiano Ronaldo in Vinicius Junior. Here is the compilation of his performance against Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey semifinals on Wednesday.

Vinicius Junior played 81 minutes on Wednesday and stood out in terms of carrying the ball, but he lacked the final touch which will improve gradually with play time. The Brazilian should have two assists as Karim Benzema and Sergio Reguilon both spurned two massive chances to take the lead in the game.

There is no doubt that there is lots of improvement in the final third of the game for the Real Madrid forward. He took six shots and tested the Blaugrana goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen only once.

Another suggestion of why his conversion rate at the capital city of Spain has been so poor. The Brazilian has taken 75 shots and has converted just three for Real Madrid this campaign which is surely a worrying part for the club. Vinicius will know that he has to work on this aspect to become an integral player of the club.

Early suggestions that the 18-year-old is resembling young Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United. The Portuguese United spent six years at Manchester United where he was guided by the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson. He took his game to another level at Real Madrid and shattered plenty of records at Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid will once again invite Barcelona to Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday as the duo go head-to-head in the La Liga.
